Marilyn Kinsella from Fairview Heights, IL, has been telling stories since 1981. Her collection of over 200 stories come from folk and literary traditions. Her style is animated with lots of whole audience participation for the younger listeners and clever word imaging for the older listener. Although the fire is fake – the blazing silk handkerchiefs mesmerize and delight the audience. A darkened room makes the fire look even more realistic. Story programs, songs, and puppets are audience appropriate.
