Tiger, Tiger c2007 by Sharon Thompson, Marie Gibbons, Ike Day

Tiger, Tiger, my little cat

How I wonder where you’re at.

I looked up and I looked down,

I have wandered all over town.

Tiger, Tiger, my little cat,

Are you hiding under that?

Tunnel, Tunnel, Worker Ant c2007 Phyl Hostmeyer

Tunnel, tunnel, worker ant.

How I love to watch you dig.

Scurry here and scurry there,

Found some food that’s really big.

Send a scent to tell your friends,

“Come and help me carry this.”

Five Little Leprechauns c2007 Marilyn Kinsella, Lynne Beetner, Mary Lu Bretsch

Five little leprechauns clogging on the floor,

One lost his shoes, then there were four.

Four little leprechauns dancing ‘round a tree,

One spied the pot of gold, then there were three.

Three little leprechauns brewing up some stew,

One got a tummy ache, then there were two.

Two little leprechauns dancing in the sun,

One plucked a shamrock, and away he did run.

One little leprechaun feeling all alone,

Called all his friends on his mom’s cell phone!

I’m a Little Teapot Patty Carleton (via kids in San Francisco, 1968)

I’m a little teapot, short and stout.

Here is my handle, here is my spout.

When I get all steamed up, hear me shout,

“Sock it to me baby, let it all hang out!”

I Am a Turkey c2007 Patty Carleton

I am a turkey

I walk kind of jerky

Around the old barnyard

I hobble hobble

Well, here are my feathers,

And this is my head.

I shake them and say,

“Gobble gobble!”

Five Severed Heads c2007 Aunt Fanny Press (Ron Adams, Lucy Grondahl, Stephanie Rhein)

Five severed heads dripping clotted gore,

A wolf ate one, and then there were four.

Four severed heads hanging from a tree,

A raven swooped down, and then there were three.

Three severed heads floating in some goo,

Up swam a monster, and then there were two.

Two severed heads not having any fun,

“Slurp” went a zombie, and then there was one.

One severed head looking so much thinner,

But I took it home, and served it up for dinner.

I’m a Lovely Peacock c2007 Sharon Thompson, Ike Day, Marie Gibbons

I’m a lovely peacock high up in a tree.

I spread my lovely feathers for all to see.

Along came a big wind and took my feathers…ALL!

Now I’m not so lovely, because my butt is bald.

Stinky, Stinky, Little Skunk c2007 Erin Guss, Kelly Sullivan, Joyce Robinson

Stinky stinky little skunk, (pinch nose)

What on earth is all that funk? (wave hand under nose)

Something just won’t smell quite right (pinch the nose)

If you give that skunk a fright (make scary motion)

Stinky, stinky little skunk, (pinch nose)

What on earth is all that funk? (wave hand under nose)

I’m a Little Teapot? c2007 Erin Guss, Kelly Sullivan, Joyce Robinson

I’m a little teapot, short and stout

Here is my handle…(stop and look confused, then start over)

I’m a little teapot, short and stout,

Here is my handle…(shake head; start over)

I’m a little teapot, short and stout,

Here is my handle…(stop)

(say aloud) I’m not a teapot!  I’m a cookie jar! So…

Who ate the cookie from the cookie jar?  (begin a new rhyming game)

The Naming Game c2007 Jane Hardy, Karen Young, Gale Portman

Sung to the tune of “Sippin’ Cider Through a Straw”

My name is_________.

_________ is my name.

I like to play

The naming game.

My name is________.

_________is my name.

I like to play

The naming game!

I’m a Little Princess by Jeanne Crews, Marcia Ollinger, Mary Garrett
I’m a little princess,
See me twirl,
I’m so happy that I’m a girl.
I don’t need a prince,
Oh no, not I,
For I’m the apple of my daddy’s eye.
