        Wednesday, November 8

Meeting: Bob's Rendezvous Room in Hartford, IL. 6:30 for an absolutely delicious home-cooked meal for $10.00...and that is tax and tip!! If you are a member that normally comes but will not be attending....you must call Ron Adams and tell him. If you normally don't come, but do plan on attending....call Ron Adams. We need to give Bob an accurate number so he doesn't over nor under cook for us.

If you need an audience to tell the story that you are telling for Tellabration, this is the meeting to rehearse, retell, or refresh. And speaking of Tellabration....

There are some big changes this year, so please read through...

bullet Saturday, November 18, 2006, 7:30 PM
bulletThe Blum House - next door to the Collinsville Memorial Library at 414 West Main St. in downtown Collinsville. Please remember that Main Street is one-way running from west to east.
bulletThe Collinsville Library will provide the refreshments - many thanks to the volunteers who will be there!
bulletWe will again have attendance prizes. Please bring in a nice prize. As a promotional ploy...be sure to add your business card!
bulletThe stories are being billed as for 14 years and older. The flyer says...for the "Adult Heart."
bulletNo tickets this year! But, there will be a free-will donation for a local charity. In the past, I know many of you bought the tickets whether your family and friends came or not. That won't be the case this year. So, round up as many adult-hearted friends as you can muster and bring them to Tellabration.
bulletTellers include: Stephanie Rhein, Marion Nichols, Ron Adams, Marilyn Kinsella, Kathy Schottel (?), Mary Lu Bretsch, Joy McLaughlin, Lucy Grondahl (alternate). Please let me know if there any additions or subtractions to this list.
bulletPlease feel free to copy the flyer by clicking on this link. If you like I can send it to you by attachment and you can copy and paste it to send to your fam and friends. Or you can save it and send it as an attachment. For you computer savvy individuals, you can link your email post to the page itself! Click here for Tellabration 2006

From Tim Sheppard -

The [very old] poem Moonlight on the West River says, "of the many crafts in the world, the most difficult is storytelling. It is not easy to master the skills of commentary, narration, speech and acting, as well as having to memorize many lines. To begin with, the performer should have a sonorous voice, and possess the ability to control the tonal rhythm. An artist must be well versed in both cultivated language and martial arts, just as if he or she was performing a one-person play."
